my bf & i want to get married, but we desided you take a break while i finish up school, well he is now dating a friend, should i be mad at him, or let it slide and forgive him?

he should not be dating if you guys are planningon geting married. there is no reason that you cannot date and just put the whole marriage thing off...

There's a question of intentions, here.
And a question of priorities.
If you decided to "take a break" then clearly marriage was not an immediate priority but rather a possible ultimate outcome.
If it had been a certainty you would have been engaged and would have set the date. But it seems you hadn't done that.
The fact that he's now pursuing other possible relationships is an indication that he's no great confidence that marriage would ever take place between you.
If one's seriously intending to get married, one doesn't "take a break" -- rather one gets married and then addresses the other problems of life together.

Don't get mad just talk to him about. Ask him why he is dating if you guys were gonna get married. Explain to him how much this meant to you. I mean if he can't accept that you wanted to finish school and had to go out and get a date already maybe he isn't even worth marrying.

You should talk to him and tell him that it hurts that you guys were planning to get married but he's dating someone else. He might feel that you just didn't want to marry him...

you should move on. when people take a break it doesn't mean that they are allowed to date other people. it just means that you two are not together for the moment.

i would be concerned, but talk to him before you blow things out of proportion. also i would stress to him that it shows a lack of commitment for your serious relationship
