To play flv files I prefer KLite Mega Pack

it plays every format I throw at it.

To download the files, just hit pause on the video and wait until the entire video has downloaded. Then look in your cache directory and sort by most recent. It will be the fairly large file at the top. Rename the file if needed. (Some sites download it as something other than .flv) Copy or move the file somewhere else.
