? Is Nadia (pronouced nardia) a Ukrainian name? or is it Latin?

Just sort of a general enquiry from England.

Nadia (pronounced as Nadia) is short from Nagegda (Hope in translation) it is in use in all Slavic group of countries like Russia, Belorussia, Ukraine
it's may have a very long history but i am not fully aware of it
