Well you did not state how long it has been since you have given birth, but I will assume it has been recent. It is likely that your diet is low on soluble fiber, and that is at least part of the cause. Buy some Metamucil and slowly work up to the recommend 7 grams of soluble fiber and be sure to include insoluble fiber in addition. The recommended amount of daily fiber is 25 to 30 grams. The blood is visible so it is most likely a tearing while passing these rock hard stools. Hard dry stools is very hard on your gut. If you are still concerned contact your primary doctor.

You can have those up inside you without having any clue. So, don't rule them out. Also, you need to concentrate on getting the stool softened up. That means eating fibre. More raw fruits and veggies, more water, less caffeine, sodas and junk. go to the health food store and buy some Barley green and take a teaspoon in juice every morning for a week, if tolerated take a tablespoon the next week. you will start having better bnowel movements and less problems. It's also very good for you. Also, eat whole grain cerael and breads instead of white bread. Good luck. A stool softener is the least healthy way to treat the problem but it's better than having what you have.

drink more water. you can never really drink to much. the extra fluids will help, unless your body retains it. the water will help your kidneys and keep you from having a lot of unwanted bladder infections.
what have you been eating? different foods can cause you to be a little constipated.
as far as the blood...baby girl, consult your doctor to make sure it's not coming from your vagina and when you're wiping it possibly looks to be coming from your rectum.

Take "Senna" dietary herb from GNC. It'll clean you right out, and make bowel movements regular.
