Although "trinity" is a term that is not found in the Bible but is a word used to describe what is apparent about God in the Scriptures. The Bible clearly speaks of God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit...and also clearly presents that there is only one God.
Here are a couple of verses which show this concept:
And the angel answered and said to her [Mary], "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:35)
[Jesus speaking to His disciples] "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you." ... "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him." (John 14:16-17, 23)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Matt. 28:19)

The Holy Spirit is Diety--He possesses the divine nature. The name of this nature is GOD.
In Hebrew it is Elohim
In Greek it is Theos
In English it is God.
There is but ONE God because there is but ONE divine nature. Deuteronomy 6:4 HOWEVER, three distinct Persons possess this divine nature:
The Father
The Son
The Holy Spirit
A SYNECDOCHE--which means where a part is spoken of as a whole or the whole as a part.

Indeed the word trinity is not in the Bible, but the indicators certainly are.
Look up Psalm 45, and Psalm 110. Both indicate THE GOD speaking to
"HIS OTHER".....also......The Trinity is indicated in 1 John 5:7 if you are using
a King James Bible (others have removed or altered same).
In the Old Testament see Isaiah 44:6 --- and His redeemer I am ---.
and Isaiah 45:11 --- And His maker --.
My favourite indicator is 1 Corinthians 15:28 ! At some point The Trinity will once
again unite because THEN there will be no need for The Trinity !
Water appears as a liquid, steam, and ice. All three are one.
A Clover leaf has three segments, it is but ONE clover.
In both situations above, three are one. Why can't THE GOD do the same?

There's no reasonable excuse.
The idea of the Trinity was one among countless Pagan ideas and traditions that the Christians adopted during their rise in popularity. Once it gained enough followers to rival Paganism, which is what was popular at the time, the Pagan ideas and traditions they picked up just stuck - and "Christians" still use, observe and practice them to this day.
The Trinity is a common concept in a wide array of Pagan faiths. Today, you can see it most commonly in the Triple Goddess, represented in many ways. It is the idea of a Maiden, a Mother, and a Crone goddess - all separate, but all one.
Originally, Christians had the same concept of God as do the Jews. He is one in Himself. Christians just added to that Jesus, whom they believe to be His son, and the Holy Spirit (although I never quite got that one explained to me). Only until the 300s C.E. did the Pagan concept of the Trinity combine the three into one entity for all of Christendom.
Today, not all Christians still believe in the “Holy Trinity.” They have discovered the true origin of it, and discarded the ancient Pagan ideal. However, these are rare and few among the many denominations currently in practice.

This nonsense was dreamt up to explain to the great unwashed that Jesus was 'more than a man' he was actually God himself. That meant seeing god which you are not suppose to be able to do, so it was quickly amended to 'son of God' although then some smart alec asked about his mother. The holy ghost is just a way of frightening kids and christians into doing what they are told to do otherwise god will haunt them. That's my theory anyway and probably just as relevant and accurate as all the other rubbish written about it.

People keep making this mistake about the One in Three. The One in Three is only God. The call Jesus "Lord" as well, BUT the distinction is he is the "LORD OF THE DEAD" - that is his TITLE. As far as the One in Three goes, it is a distinction of the Conscious mind the Unconscious mind and Willfull Action. Describing that explains how God is able to create the Universe. You can find some technical descriptions on how that works if you find the "Book of the Dead" or the "Book of the Recently Deceased" - a manual you get when you die that explains things to you. It is hard to find, since you get it when you die, but I managed to bring mine back with me one time when I died, and then I found a better copy of it later on.

This idea was long ago disputed. The council of Nicea (in 325 CE) seemed to make a decision, which means no one really knows what the mythology meant it to be, but a few men voted and got to decide.

Consubstantial Trinity. One God in three divine persons. The divinity is One, the essence of each varies from each other. We name them in relational human terms for our understanding. Yet we realize that to understanding God is impossible.
God in Unitive Divinity. Relationship are distinct yet relative to each other. Each reveals a purpose of God.
