A mother and her young daughter are making a pot roast. The woman cuts off the ends of the pot roast and puts it in the oven. The daughter asks "why did you cut the ends off the pot roast?" The mother says "I don't know, my mother taught me to do it. Let's call her and ask."
So the mother calls her mother, and asks "hey mom, why do we cut the ends off the pot roast?" And her mother says "I don't know, my mother taught me to do it. I'll call her and ask."
So she calls her mother who is 95 years old. And she says "mom, why do we cut the ends off the pot roast?" And the old woman says "oh, well, back then my oven was only so wide, and I had to cut the ends off to make it fit!"
That is religion. That is faith. It's just cutting the ends off the pot roast without ever asking why!

I am not a highly religious person and i dont follow any particular religion personally but i do believe in a GOD. I think that alot of people are willing to believe in something, anything, bcause the thought that we are alone scares us. We like to think that something or someone is watching over us so that we feel more protected and safe. For some reason the thought of being alone in the universe scares us... We pray to that 'someone' out of hope not so much faith... Deep down when anyone prays all they really want is their own way. We are seriously just hopin that someone or something beyond our control will help us out... That is my opinion anyway, Hope it helps...

Faith is a personal act - the free response of the human person to the initiative of God who has revealed himself. Faith is not an isolated act. No one can believe alone, just as no one can live alone. You have not given yourself faith.
Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to each person. We can lose this priceless gift. St Paul states, by rejecting conscience, certain persons have made a shipwreck of their faith.

i justify my faith based on what i see and feel during my daily routine and during prayer. I definately feel God moving through me when i'm praying or reading the bible. i couldn't put a percentage on that though.
