I'm considering moving to New Zealand from the US and have been trying to do some homework before I make the decision. One thing that I have looked into is cell phone service.

HOLY SMOKES!!!

Am I finding the right websights? It looks like you guys are paying an arm and a leg for very little service time. Yes I've done the conversion to US dollars. Yikes!

I currently have T-mobile and I get 600 anywhere anytime minutes, with free night and weekend and ten cent text messages.

This works out fairly well for me, so I wouldn't mind something similar. Could someone clarify for me what the average rate is there and point me out to those sites?

Thanks.

take a look at the following websites to gain the information that you are looking for.

www.telecom.co.nz
www.vodafone.co.nz

Yep cell phone use here in NZ is very expensive!! The only two providers are telecom or vodafone, so just work out which of these companies offers the best plan for you

Well, I bought a cell phone with a pre-pay sim card setup here in May this year and used it ever since. In that entire time, I've used up NZ$ 22. Does that still sound high to you?
