just say a stern No! and quit playing for a few seconds. Then you may play again. You may have to do this a couple times before he gets it.

Its best to start training for this at 8 weeks, you play and then teach them to freeze when you say 'stop', like 'simon says'. As they get older you gradually teach more control so you can stop them whenever you need to no matter how excited they are.
Don't play with him using your hands, don't let the games get too hyper, and take him to dog training classes. You really need to get a handle on him before he gets any older. Once trained propely they make great but very energetic pets and they don't really slow down until they are 8 or 9, thats when many other dogs are O.A.P's!
Research some different games to play with him, finding games are great for them. Anything that burns off energy and gets them working.

Dogs hate being ignored so as soon as he starts biting, stop playing, move away from him, don't look at him & fold your arms. If he still doesn't stop, put him in another room for a few minutes until he calms down. Let him out & if he starts again, keep repeating the actions. He'll get the message eventually.

Seek out a good dog trainer. Jack Russells are known to be very "active". They need LOTS of attention and physical activity (walking, fetching, etc.). As far as what you can do immediately, praise will be far more effective than punishment. Catch 'em being good, and pour on the praise (and treats)!

For a Jack Russell that is very aggressive , a technique is to squirt the terrier in the face with water whenever he bites. No scolding or other action is required in this instance - just a surprise squirt.

It's typical of ALL puppies to bite. Get him a nylon bone and be sure it's totally available to him, teach him understand that's the only thing he can bite. Without something for him to bite, he's probably going to bite anything else within view, when you'r not looking. This can ruin everything in his view/way, including furniture/cables.

Don't play rough or get it over excited. Terriers are notorious nippers, but you will know that from the research into the breed which you did before you bought it right?

When he does this immediately stop playing. Say NO in a stern voice and do not resume the activity. If everytime he does it, you don't play, he will eventually stop. If he doesn't I would suggest getting a muzzle. He may learn that he doesn't want to wear it and will stop.

Best of luck

as soon as it bites pick it up and bite it on the scruff of the neck, not too hard but hard enough to show that you are not pleased. It's what the mother would do
