a nice bottle of wine, something that they like - nice golf balls, good quality coffee

hmm... this is a tricky situation always.... does he even expect a gift? Sometimes bosses give out gifts but don't expect anything in return, just your undying gratitude and continued loyalty. That has been my experience. Otherwise, it could be a competition to see who gives the nicest gift. My suggestion would be a couple of tickets to some nice event (something that he likes) in a card, or make a contribution to his favorite cause... those are my humble suggestions.

First off, I don't think it's necessary to spend $30-50. I think $10-20 is plenty, otherwise it might look like brownnosing. How about movie tickets or tickets to a game tucked into a card?

restaurant gift card. I wouldn't give a bottle of wine, since that's what he gave you. How about a gift basket of snack foods that goes with wine?

present card is the suitable thank you to pass. consistent with possibility locate out the place he is going for coffee, then get him a modern card for there and a refillable mug or cup of a few type. possibly a modern certificates to his favourite dry cleaners. basically remember, you do no longer opt to seem such as you attempt to kiss up, so it quite is truthfully the thought that counts, no longer the quantity!!!

Get him a 'worlds greatest boss' mug and a funny sign for work (you know, like those 'office closed due to sickness- i'm sick of work' ones.)
