I used to have the problem and forced it out of me somehow. Then, years later in life, I heard a friend gagging in the morning during his brushing routine and I instantly went back to gagging. I've come up with a quick way to stop the urge to purge-I have to quickly pull on my upper lip until it passes.

that happens to me when i use more toothpaste then usual and it is the first thing my mouth feels during the day. so try to rinse your mouth before you brush and spread the toothpaste all around your mouth instead of putting it on the brush and sticking it in one place. hope i helped. Happy Holidays!

That must suck! I just don't see how you can gag while brushing your teeth. Maybe try a different toothpaste. Maybe your just putting the toothbrush too far into our mouth. It's happened to me before!

Good question... I thought I was the only one. I am not sure how to fix it... I just brush my teeth with the bathroom door closed. Good luck.

You're supposed to brush your teeth, not the back of your throat.
