On friday I was blessed in getting a beautiful German Shepard puppy; who will be 4 months on the 1st of January. Hes very sweet though teething and still learning to potty train. He was also fixed before he came to us, he still has his stitches in.
However lately ...

Whenever I'm walking down the hall he will sniff my crotch and jump on me. At first I thought it was just a way to say "Hello" ( which is why they sniff each other) but then it started to get a bit more disturbing for me. Today I went to pet him and he bit my arm. i thought he was playing (it didnt hurt) but then he tried to mount my arm and hump it.

O_O i dont know what to do now. and im getting a bit nervous. I dont want this to be on-going behavior..and ive told him to stop but there are times where hell let me pet him..and others where hell try to get me. And I fear that its something I cant fix becuase if hes doing it now..what will happen when he gets older? can anyone help?

Wow....my German Shepherd is 3 months....the humping behavoir is dominance....at his age he is just exploring. He doesn't know what he is doing so just tell him a stern NO. The sniffing of the crotch is saying hello, also with humans they can depict who is male and female.....tell him NO it comes naturally to them, for the biting he is inviting you to play thats how they would do it with their littermates.....Never hit him, just tell him NO and he will eventually learn....Also i was told to ignore unwanted behavoir and praise wanted behavoir...try it out.

Being raised on a farm, I can tell you that sometimes the vet's (or whoever is doing the castrating) don't "get it right" and get everything out, so there are still hormones, etc. involved. The dog might have even had a third nut they didn't get, it's not unheard of.
The FIRST thing I'd do is take the dog to a different vet for advice and an exam. If the physical problem is not the problem, then you can take the dog to a trainer for further help. I suspect the dog has some physical issues yet, though. Best of luck.

This kind of behavior is not unknown. There's nothing wrong with it that I know of, in the sense of being bad for the animal; it's just annoying for you, that's all. You can't really do much besides one, try to teach him not to do it, or two, wait- german shepherds are big enough as adults that they will probably lose this habit over time.

He sounds pretty young to be starting his test for dominance but it's probably not impossible. To me it sounds like he's asserting himself. When you lean over him and pet his backside he sees this as you saying you're dominant and when he mounts you he's saying "No, I am." Work on his basic commands and when he tries to mount you give him a firm "No!" and have him do a command like Sit or Lie down and follow through with it. If he doesn't do as you say and you don't follow through he can see this as "winning" the challenge.

hen he tries to 'mount' you, make sure to have a spray bottle handy. Spray him with a bottle and push him off. Ignore him until he calms down.

I've also heard people say to hump him back. Since this is mostly a dominant thing (not sexual at all), you need to make sure that your dog knows you are the alpha.

you should buy a big stuffed animal or something and see if he humps that if he dose than he is in heat he wants to bread but don't bread him it is not a good idea because they will not have healthy pup(S).and all of them will probably not survive over the night.

This is just a stage for most dogs, my dog did it to and it stoped u just have to tell him no and that is unexceptable, but do not raise your voice to much or it just gets him more excited.
