The Physician will end up going before the Board of Medicine, and will more then likely lose his license to practice medicine for a long time. It doesn't matter if the patient is married, single, young, or old. It doesn't matter if it's consensual. It's ethically wrong for the Physician. I know, our practice went through the same thing. The doc had very consensual sex with a patient, and it was found out. He lost his license, and we all lost our jobs. ~~~

If it was consensual and they are both adults, he has done nothing wrong but have an affair. Why would you report him? Sounds like the patient is the one with a problem.

Unless the sexual conduct happened in his office, or if he drugged the patient before he had intercourse, there is nothing that can be done. Unfortunately, the affair has nothing to do with his medical practice, so State Med Boards won't do anything about it unless it affects his practice

Why is it anyone else's business what 2 consenting adults do? Yes they're wrong for having an affair but that's their choice. We've all done bad things so who's to point the finger at another. Besides if you know this person is doing wrong you shouldn't try 2 get him in trouble. Advise him that the situation he's putting him/herself isn't a good one & it might ruin his reputation....

Even though the doctor's ethics are very questionable, I'd say no laws were broken. I would say it takes two to tango and feel very sorry for the spouse who trusted this person to choose their life with. You would think a doctor would be wise enough to realize, that a person who cheated with you.. would also cheat elsewhere if they pursued the relationship any further. So I'd say nothing unless it violated some rules of conduct pertaining to the medical field this person was in.. Also trying to prove it beyond your word vs. theirs......
