In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers.—2Â Corinthians 4:4.
Satan himself wants us to believe that God makes us suffer. The bible clearly says: “Far be it from the true God to act wickedly, and the Almighty to act unjustly!”—Job 34:10.
why people make the mistake of blaming God for all the suffering in the world? In many cases, they blame Almighty God because they think that he is the real ruler of this world. They do not know a simple but important truth that the Bible teaches that the real ruler of this world is Satan the Devil.
The Bible clearly states: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1Â John 5:19) When you think about it, does that not make sense? This world reflects the personality of the invisible spirit creature who is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Satan is hateful, deceptive, and cruel. So the world, under his influence, is full of hatred, deceit, and cruelty. That is one reason why there is so much suffering.
A second reason why there is so much suffering is that, mankind has been imperfect and sinful ever since the rebellion in the garden of Eden. Sinful humans tend to struggle for dominance, and this results in wars, oppression, and suffering. (Ecclesiastes 4:1; 8:9) A third reason for suffering is “time and unforeseen occurrence.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11) In a world without Jehovah as a protective Ruler, people may suffer because they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and omnipotent, then who else would there be to blame? If God created everything, then God created Satan and the other angels. If they turned against God, as humans are said to have, then that created potential must have been innate from the Creator. If this is not the case, then God would not be all-powerful and all-knowing. It's a vicious circle that is beyond human comprehension.

God doesn't cause anything bad; the old testament states, "God is the source of no evil."
However, God can LET things happen.
But everything works together to fufill God's big plan. So bad things are usually not bad in the long run!

CLEARLY. It must be, because you said so. It couldn't be that people do bad things, and cause bad things to happen. No, they shouldn't have to take responsibility for their actions. So let's blame it on Satan!

I would say because people are blinded, spiritually. Most of the times the bad things that happen to us are consequences of our own sins. But we should never fear as Christians because God is always with us and every bad thing that happens should turn out for our own good. God bless!

The Bible calls Satan the ruler of this world. That makes sense since he was cast out of heaven and now is in the vicinity of the earth. Also, when Satan tempted Jesus with all the kingdoms of the earth, how could he do that unless it was his to offer??

Because the devil wants us to blame the Allmighty so he can say: "they don't love you, they love me!" Which proves that at least satan believes in God. That's the reason why he did not kill him, but cast him away. God love satan, but satan thinks he's smarter...

Here is a BETTER QUESTION:: Why is satan blamed when people do bad things?? In my perspective, it is ridiculous to blame an unseen identity for your own mistakes. It is a way for humans to discard the responsibility for their own actions. "Yes I killed my wife but it was satan that took over me"....Give ME A FREAKIN BREAK. You need to take responsibility for your own actions.
