On 21st, I cleaned the place and baked a Yule cake, then I lit a fire. The fire must be lit throughout the night, to help the new sun be reborn. During the longest night of the year, there is time for meditation and divining about the next year. I fixed and polished anew my set of runes.
On the solstice day (today), the cake is eaten and the house is decorated by evergreen branches and holly berries.

Blessed Yule to you!

Blessed Yule! I'm off to a Yule Party with a bunch of other Witches!

Not celebrating today, as the Solstice is tomorrow evening, actually.

Today I'm cooking food for the Yule ritual and Handfasting for tomorrow night. Curried crab salad (to be served on English cucumber rounds), ham and orange salad, turkey and cranberry chutney sandwich filling, etc.

Thie kitchen smells *wonderful* - right now I've got corrot-cake cookies in the oven.

I'm really sick right now so not much. Sitting on my computer because I can barely get the energy to go do my laundry, never mind anything else.

Hopefully it will be better by the weekend so I can spend a couple days with family. I'm supposed to go to my sisters on Sunday for dinner. Not sure about my dad's, whether we'll be going on Saturday or what.

Thanks for the well wishes. Second time in a month and a half. Guh. This is not a good year apparently. I usually get sick once during the winter once and at least this one isn't as bad as the last one. Last time I was almost hospitalized.

I'm casting a circle. And then I'm going to invite my Druid friend, my Satanic friend, and Celtic friend and we're going to ask for a happy blessed year for the benefit of the world.

Blessed be. Happy Yule.

I volunteered to host a bonfire for the Neopagan members of our Unitarian Universalist fellowship and gathered wood for it yesterday evening, but it's now pouring outside, so we'll have to forgo the bonfire and just light lots of candles inside while we sip wassail and sing.

May you and yours enjoy a very Happy Yule and Winter Solstice!

Hope you feel better soon, Moiraes Fate.

And a blessed Yule to you as well!

I'll be having a quiet ceremony at home. Nothing big, nothing expensive, and nothing too obvious, either. I need to keep it toned down living in a Christian home.

However, that's what's nice about being Pagan. Our gods DON'T CARE if we pay them pittance and beg for their blessings on a regular basis. Giving them my love, respect, and reverence is so much more rewarding when it's not expected. :)

I'll be lighting a few candles, saying a prayer of thanks, and playing my bass. =)
