Because the day is supposed to be to worship the sun god. Too bad most Christians have forgotten that.

Sunday was/is the day that most pagans worship the sun. Hence the term Sun-day. Christians made it their sabbath day because back in the Roman day, they were pagan. The Christians figured that if the sabbath was on an already holy day, they would get more converts to this new "Christianity" thing.
