well, first, may i suggest working on your confidence? if you're always thinking you "can't win," then how are you ever going to get anywhere? it's so cheesy, i know, but confidence really is attractive. there's nothing like a guy who knows what he wants.
second, you probably don't want to hear this, but your mom probably has a point. school first, then relationships. at least get adjusted to high school life before trying to find a girlfriend. if you keep your grades up, your mother will probably rethink her stance, though at the same time, she probably doesn't want to see her baby grow up!
finally, if it doesn't work out with this girl, don't worry! there are plenty of girls, and you're young. you've got plenty of time to hone your skills and find a girl who fits whatever you're looking for.
i hope some of that helped! good luck =)

You might want to listen to your mom. Is so easy to sidetrack when you are still young. But you probably won't listen to me either.
So, if this girl is the girl you are interested in right now and have only made contact once how do you expect to compete. Not that it has anything to do with being a freshman or a senior, but the fact that she doesn't know anything about you or you about her. Why not try and take it slowly. A conversation will be nice, and then take it from there. You sound like a smart kid, sop don't let girls get in the way of your education, there are plenty of girls, and there is plenty of time so don't rush and take your time.
Good luck player.

I'd suggest getting to know her a little more. Just be friends for now. You never know how long her little fling with this senior will last.... probably not forever. And if she sees what a great guy you are, then she might be intrested. Just keep talking to her and build a friendship and see where it goes from there. Good luck!

Find a girl that you have mutual feelings for. If she decides to be your girl and doesn't like you, she will be unhappy which will make you unhappy and then no body's happy.
And as for your mother, you don't really have to tell her that you are dating. Or if you are a real honest type, try to explain to her that you are responsible enough to not loose track of your school work. And even sugar coat it. Tell her that if you date, your grades will get even better.
Just try your hardest on both things.

Tell her your true feelings. Let her know you care for her. As for your mom, try to make an example of your responsibility. Take on more chores, do better in your schoolwork.
