O' course; it's easier and safer than homemade ( which uses raw eggs). Just add your favorite rum or brandy to it, and (optional) add whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Home-made eggnog is not as difficult as you would think. Not as easy as adding rum to a carton, but definitely not hard. I just made eggnog ice cream and it took all of 30min to make the base (which, is basically the drink). Check out Alton Brown's recipe on the Food Network website (I'm not affiliated, but if you want the best eggnog yet, check it out).

We just get the store bought eggnog. Make sure you add good liquor to it, though. We usually put brandy (for example, Christian Brothers) in it, rather than rum. Some people put bourbon in theirs. I did buy some rum in Jamaica this year, I think I'll try it in some eggnog.

Usually I put 1 shot Dark Rum and 1 shot Brandy into an 8 ounce glass and top off with a sprinkle of fresh grated nutmeg. Enjoy
