Lets face it no one is ever ready for it, the shops are pack to breaking point, more arguements and relationships break down and then you've got all the sale's starting on boxing day, more heartbreak trying to return those unwanted present. Maybe we should only do xmas once every 4 yrs, just like a leap year, then we all have time to organise it properly and relationships might last longer. Your thoughts please.

I think 52 weeks is enough notice. (364 days is not long enough.)

hmmm, seems to me that the problem is you've taken Christ out of Christmas. You even typed the "x" instead.

The shopping season can indeed be as bad as you described - but only if YOU let it. You can do nothing about the days going by (although it's the same date every year so why it catches people by surprise I'll never know), and you can do nothing about what other people do or don't do. You can, however, control your own behavior and attitudes. :)

Christmas should be able celebrating the birth of Christ, and spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. If you can do that then you're blessed beyond measure, and presents and gifts are just icing, and should be treated as such.

Merry Christmas.

just my thoughts, but we have all yr to prepare for christmas, i mean we know that its coming. one could shop throughout the yr, so as to not have to fight the crowds in stores during the holiday season. you have a valid point, the huge sales are great for saving money and hopefully getting good deals on gifts, but the fact of the matter is, just about everyone shops on those days, and who wants to fight the crowd. and more than likely by the time you fight the crowd, you dont get exactly what you went for. with so much shopping going on, more times than not, you have to settle for what you can find. you also made a good point about exchanging gifts, one idea would be gift cards, or gift certificates.....then the person has a choice on what they get. me personally, its not about what you get, its suppose to be about the giving, family, traditions, and kids. i mean honestly, there are ppl that dont get christmas gifts, children that dont get gifts. those of us that are able to give, should, and those of us that receive, should be happy with gift. its the thought that counts!!

Well ! The day might change, but the Date never does, so if one Christmas to the next isn't enough, then I don't know what is, after all, it is 12 whole months. !!

We get enough time we get a whole year. How much more do you want? X-mas is very streasful because of how much money people spend. Good luck in all you do!
