Because they have no natural outlet for these proper desires.
Men and women were made to marry and have sex. When some man tries to denie these feelings it comes out in other ways. He gets so horney he would have sex with even a little kid.
Not getting married is unnatural and stupid. How could a religious leader know the problems in a family that he counsels if he has no family? Someplace it say's a religious leader should be the husband of one wife. There is no scriptural basis for that if even says stay away from those forbidding to marry.

I think that there are just as many priest out there that are pedophiles or any other kind of freak as everyone else.. they are all just human (no matter what religions want you to think)
But because priest are supposed to signify a purer person than anyone else can be.. when we hear it and we see someone in that kind of protected and elevated position doing something so sad then it becomes bad news. Just like when in WWI the whole internment camps because you looked a certain way and junk. Or even now with the Muslim community and how alot of people look at them. Its just More stereotypes coming through.

Priest are suppose to sublimate their sexuality. With all this repression is unhealthy for most individuals without the gift for celibacy. Their sexuality like a steaming pot will come out in one way shape of form.

In my opinion it would be best for very few individuals to take a vow of celibacy as though you may be zealous for God you may not have the gift you think you have.

It would be best if the Catholic church had an order that is devoted to celibacy by choice, but to require all their priests adhere to such a practice, which among many things is just not very practical.

Personally I do not foresee this happening anytime in the near future, but you asked the questioned so I was compelled to tell the truth.

Compare the general population which compared to priests (which you did not explain which religion your aiming to tho I have an idea...) is huge. Priests=small population with pedos. Rest of population=huge with pedos as well. Its just the general population has more normal people than normal priests.

Nope, not coincidence at all.
According to the Bible, there should not be any other Fathers, and neither should there be such a thing as a Church, so all around, people are following icons and worshiping things they should not.

If we were to follow the Bible, the women would be in charge, be called Teachers, be spreading the word, and the men would be the helpers - just as Jesus did it.

The devil/Satan attacks and tempts the leaders of the church more. Priests are still human beings. They get tempted and make mistakes like everyone else. It is an attack on the church and Satan aims to make the church look bad through that.

Actually that's not true. There are very few child molesting priests, and no research has ever shown there them to be more likely to become pedophiles.
Elementry school teachers are a different story.
