Yes absolutely. Contact your local social services and if you get no joy (which wont suprise me)! Contact your local (eg) Your town Carers office. If still no joy, e-mail me privately and I will see what I can do for you.

I have Asperger's Syndrome and am in receipt of DLA. The difficulty of applying for DLA is that you need to explain AS in terms relating to physical mobility and personal care requirements. The explanations could be a description of the difficulties faced on a bad day, or for regular stressful activities such as doing the shopping, having the (financial) option to take a taxi home rather than a crowded bus and avoid a major source of stress.
You will probably need some help with filling in the application forms, the Citizen's Advice Bureau was a great help, especially if they have someone who knows about Asperger's or dyspraxia.

Yes - there is disability living allowance which can be claimed by anyone with a disability that affects their personal care or mobility. With this it isn't so much what the disability is (yes aspergers and dyspraxia count!) but how it affects the person with the health issue/disability. Get advice from the CAB or a local welfare rights organisation such as a DIAL (disability advice and information line)
