Hi wolf you back again, like answering yours. I dont see why you should be banned from anywhere for wearing sandles and long hair, it is not the outward looks that count but what is in your heart they should look for. Do you honestly believe in religeon. I think it is a bit overated.

Dress codes are for jerks.

It isn't right if you were asked to leave. They should be happy you even went to their church in the first place. Judging someone by their clothes/appearance is wrong, so yes, they were wrong. Now, you can either dislike that sect of the religion, or you can dislike all of them. Just because one church told you to leave doesn't mean others will. I'm not defending Christianity, as a whole, but I am saying that there are better people than the ones who ousted you from their church.

I am not a christian anymore, but the bible says "Come as you are" and any church that will rebuke someone for having long hair and sandals needs to bseriously talked to. Thats absolutely ridiculous. The bible is great in a lot of ways, even though I am Wiccan I can still appreciate it. But the church itself breeds corruption and I am terribly sorry if this has happened to you.

Blessings!

You're saying that because you (in this poorly worded hypothetical), resemble people's commonly held ideas of what Jesus Christ looked like when he was alive, you should be welcomed into a church instead of judged by contemporary moires of hygiene and fashion?

No, that doesn't really negate anything the Bible has to say, nor does it confirm any of it. There's nothing in the Bible about Jesus wearing sandals and a toga, or wearing long hair. That is simply how European artists during the pre-Renaissance period chose to depict him.

And while I don't agree that churches should discriminate against people based on looks, it's really up to them who they want to allow into their buildings. They are, after all, private property.

This question doesn't present the theological quandary you think it does.

Is that true? Is it because you are a guy? Or a woman with shoulder length hair, sandals and a micro mini? Generally, i think that if you are at a service of worship you should be received for who you are - Christianity is not about what you look like but how you behave to others - I agree that it gives a very bad impression of christianity - in a time when its message needs promoting more than ever.

Being a Christian (and Christians are just Humans) Should that happen to me, I would try another church.

My heart has been broken after many years in two different churches, by Christian Pastors.
That didn't effect my faith in God, but I do refuse to commit myself so whole heartedly again.

I do constantly try to remember that God has a plan and a reason for everything that happens. We may not know the reason but sooner or later the results will appear.

God Bless to all and Merry Christmas!

What !! Thats absurd

Give up on religion. You do not need the church to be a good person and if that's their attitude then I think you should go your own way about life

Damn church Got it all wrong

I'm sure to envoke a reaction with this answer but it's true religion is not about history but more about geography. Not your past but more about where you are born

It's all a load of old rot. Be a good person without the God bit

Woah, you were asked to leave a church for that? I'm a christian and I've never seen my church tell someone they couldn't be there because of a way they dressed. Try another church and don't think other churches will be like that.

That church was chock full of hypocrites. The Bible even says that mankind looks at the outward parts, but God looks at the heart. Now you get another chance to find a REAL, SPIRITUAL church. Those kind of christians give us a bad name. Sorry for your stress. I am glad they asked you to leave before they brainwashed you.

I am sorry you had to experience that. Not all churches are like that, all the churches i have been to welcome people of and race, any clothing and all of that. Come on I dyed my hair bright red at one point and was never told to leave church. Just look 4 the right church and you'll experience the real love Chritians can give.
