Just a thought.....I have the most repulsive lookin' step mother and I'm starting to see some simularities in my wife.....her mum died about a decade ago and I remember having to look at that overweight rotting corpse on my sofa for a week before I realised she was a festering dead body!....now my wife is pilein' on the pounds and her face is morphing into that old flee bag's day by day....think she's come back from the dead through her daughter?

i'm afraid so. of course, there are certain exceptions - but only few. it has to do with genes - but fat is also about hormones and how a person has grown up. if your wife had accepted her mother's fat as the norm it is more that possible that she won't care about her getting fat either. But don't forget that after a certain age women get fatter due to menopause and the whole hormones thing. Finally, you should not under-estimate her feelings on that matter. Perhaps she doesn't like what she sees but she cannot fight it or do anything to reverse the situation. Your reminding that you love her as she is, is essential. But if you want her to lose weight, you should do it in a more diplomatic way: tell her that you want to develop common hobbies and buy subscription for two at the gym - or for dance lessons (that is even better). And, whatever you do, don't tell her that she looks like her mother did just before she died! I don't think she will ever forgive you!

Sorry its the genes, get your wife a Gym membership and didn't anyone tell you to check the mother out before marrying the daughter cause that is what she will look like in the future.

Ummm...yes most of the time daughters end up looking like their mothers or grandmothers. And about her coming up from the dead through her daughter depends on what you believe in.

It's not necessarily true but if the daughter lives the same life as her mom, it is likely they will be similar.
But just because mom is fat doesn't mean your wife will be, unless she has the same unhealthy habits as her mom.
But personality is what I would be concerned with.... If moms a "B" then probably your wife wil be too. Sorry dude.

It really depends. Some people could be very lucky and having stunning mothers. I think alot of girls resemble there mums in some way.

Seriously though, why should that matter if you love your wife, she is her own person not a clone.

Erm... I suppose. Afterall, mothers and daugthers share genetic information. And you know what, I don't mind looking like my mum at all, because she's gorgeous and in fact, she's fitter than me!

not only is that just mean and nasty but no you only look like one the mother or 2 the father my mom raised me by herself all my life and I look like my dad it all hereditary and in the persons genes that makes them look like one or the other.
Also if you feel this way about her then you don't really love her and she deserves someone way better then you some one who will love her for just being her you big fat jerk

i'd just love to know what you look like, do you think yourself has perfect, maybe your wife could lose some weight, easily done, with diet, and find herself a real man.

I dont look like my mom, I hope I never will. But I know some women that dont look anything like there moms. Good luck in all you do!
