What happens to the people that get stranded at the airport(because of weather)? If you are on a tight budget with no additional money for food or necessities then does the airport provide you with meals or anything??

Not for weather problems, only if the airplane has mechanical problems will they put you up....you are just going to have to hang out at the airport, and see if they can put you on a later flight.

You get nothing for a weather delay. Denver is in an official state of emergency, so they might be giving things out there. Bringing trail mix or something similar is always a good idea (not that would be holding you over for 2 days).

some people get deppressed that the weather is bad and the planes are on hold, having tight budget is also a bad sign of being stranded and getting more broke next time bring enough and look up the weather forcast before u travel if u plan another trip elsewhere. that would be my suggustion goodluck.

The airlines won't do anything. That is why travel agents suggest travel insurance, if your flight is delayed due to weather, they will reimburse you for your stay at a hotel close by up to a certain amount. They don't cover food because everyone has to eat.

You're pretty much on your own unless there's a problem with the plane itself.
I just heard the food vendors are price gouging at the Denver Airport.

If its an "act of God" the airlines wont do anything to provide lodging, even if you are an atheist, like I am! I did hear today that the Red Cross was assisting people in Denver who were stuck.

Never happend to me. Just buy cheep foods and have ONE serve of takeaway like McDonalds or Red Rooster and make it a large meal.
Sorry but I have no idea but if they dont give you anything, then thats what you have to do
