i live in alta loma california and im going to school for interior design in newport beach. i commute a couple days a week during non traffic hours. im graduating soon and my parents wont let me move out cause im only 21 and they are scared for my safety, but my career choice being interior design is down in either o.c. or LA. should i commute out there everyday or should i wait a while and not work at all until i get married which hopefully will be in a year or so.

Get married now and all your problems will be solved :)
but if thats not possible. Be patient. You do not have to jump right in to working full time after you graduate. Maybe a part time internship, somehwere more local to you or even just a couple of days a week so your commute time doesnt really increase. Those are possible options.
If not it is ok to just take a break from school and work for a while. Most grad students do take some time off after they graduate. Take it as a reward to yourself for graduating. Take all the money people will give you as graduation gifts and go shopping for a while. Maybe somehwere like fashion island or south coast plaza, or even rodeo drive. And if you run out of money take your parents or your boyfriends money.
dont stress it. enjoy life. From the looks of your avator, you are one good looking lady. If you are ever looking for a man to take care of you, come my way :)

well first thing first I dont think anyone should wait until they get married to do anything. Im not sure about you commuting back and forth because it is a lot of crazy people out in the world, and you are young . I agree with your parents to a degree its alright to be concern about your safetiness, but they also have to let you grow up and be the young lady you suppose to be. How would you know your mistakes if you dont make them your self. (BE SAFE) in what ever deside to do with your life.

YOU are v21 and still not in charge of your own life ((((do not show this to your parents))))________just go ahead and move and have a life and a career ..____ your safety is always in question if you are not aware of the surrounding and what's going on around you ___if you do not get out and enjoy your career and have a life ...someday you will be sad that you let it all slip by you ...be cautious and enjoy but don't go overboard....best of luck and good life to you...wc

commute to O.C......get on with life... life is to short to wait....the last two words of your statement; OR SO is bad...you will know more about interior design other than text. working at it..be independent and sing your own song...your parents want you so called safe from the "bad" world..there is more "good" than bad in this world and you can be part of it....my daughter lives down the road at laguna hills...knows about being safe and so i don't worry about her....
