For Christmas I am starting a scrapbook for me and my boyfriend. We have been dating for six months and are very much in love. I went all out on the stuff to make the scrapbook, and I am very artistic so I know it will look impressive. I was going to put all of the emails we sent to each other when we first met, some pictures, and leave the rest for the future. The more I think about it though I feel like this present is kind of stupid b/c we are both in our 20's. What do you think out there???

I think you are a very thoughtful girl.

If you were dating a gay guy this would be a great present.

But, I don't think your boyfriend (who is probably straight) would like a scrapbook.

It just isn't a guy thing.

Keep the scrapbook for yourself; it will be great to look at with your grandkids when you both are in your 90s.

from a guy: it's a fantasic idea. If he is really into your creativity then you'll be fine. If he's like most men, i would say probably not the best gift. When most men get cards, they don't know what to do with them. Do we put them up on self, how long do they stay there, when can we throw them away? Kind of a simulair situation. This is something HE should be doing for YOU. You'll probably appriciate alot more than he will. Depends on the type of guy you have. I think most men only keep stuff like that when their kids make it, and sooner or later they still end up throwing it away, or putting it away not to be seen again for a long time.

I think it sounds terrific.
But keep in mind most guys don't appreciate this sort of thing as much as girls do - they don't notice the little details, like how you picked a blue cover because blue is his favorite color or how pasted airplanes on a certain page because he likes traveling. They sort of stuff usually doesn't register for them, but they still appreciate the overall look and package.
But it's also the sort of thing they would never make for themselves, so they might appreciate that someone else did it for them - they can enjoy the pictures without having to do anything as "girly" as scrapbooking.
Go for it.

I would not appreciate it, especially since it is only from 6 months ago. I would make an exception if I thought what I wrote in an e-mail was especially poetic or clever. If the words have beauty (and are not all gushy and lovey lovey) then the pictures and decorations might complement it. However, I really don't think that will be the case here.

i think that's a very sweet present! I'm sure he'll like it! instead of leaving the rest of the scrapbook blank for the future fill it up and then if you stay together long enough, you can make the future one. the age doesn't matter what matters is that you made/gave him the gift with love and im sure he'll love it!

Your commitment is wonderful but ask yourself who are you really doing it for and why are you giving it as a gift? I quote from you " I am starting a scrapbook for me and my boyfriend" Don't do it I repeat don't do it if you don't want your feelings hurt.

I think you should do that. It's a very unique and it's from the heart. If it's your lives together then it's not stupid. I say you should go for it. I'm sure he'll love it and treasure it forever.

I think it is very cool, but guys aren't really into this stuff as much as girls are. It could scare him if he's not secure in the relationship and its future.

Have you ever seen, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"--that's one of the things she does--but obviously to comedic effect.

Make it for yourself and enjoy it like a diary.

I think that is an AWESOME present for your boyfriend. yes, you're in your 20s, but memories don't stop once you pass the teenage years!
