I'm a JW and I don't want to go to heaven. The teaching that all good people go to heaven makes people think that that's the only future hope for God-fearing people. This is not true. The Bible speaks of a time when the "meek shall inherit the earth". Those not of the 144,000 who faithfully serve God will live forever in a paradise earth in the manner that Adam and Eve did before their sin. If you really want to have an in-depth conversation about this, ask the next JWs who come to your door. Why ask people on here who can't give you a straight answer?

Things like this don't make sense when you only listen to what non-JWs think of the religion, instead of studying it on your own.
As for living on earth after Armageddon, consider the human brain.
Science has shown that we have the storage capacity to continue learning for over 10,000 years, before we get anywhere close to filling our heads with data. What use is this ability is man was not meant to live that long and longer? God doesn't create things for no reason. The human body never gets older than 7 years of age. Every cell in the body completely replaces itself over this time period, some faster like skin cell, others slower like the heart and brain. To what purpose is it to have this ability, if not to live without aging?
God created the Earth and the rest of the universe for a purpose. The Earth can hold only so many persons having everlasting life. If we were not meant to live forever, what purpose are all those other planets for?
Consider the challenge. Helping to tear down all the last vestiges of the old system and rebuilding the Earth back into a Paradise. Once done, heading out to the planets to terroform them, perhaps with just the power of our minds.
They want you to be a part of that, to live forever without aging or illness. Which would you rather be, flouting around in Heaven or doing something constructive with God's creation? As for those who do go, they are not the leadership in the JWs, they are servants. Being born again means they serve the needs of others, not putting themselves on a pedestal. You don't even know who is born again until Niacin 14, when they partake in the symbols of Christ.

ask yourself this question... what was god original plan for all man kind...was it to live on earth , die, and then go to heaven. Everything that God puts forth do not return to him with out results. Therefore it has always been for us (humankind) to remain on earth be fruitful and enjoy all that God has created for us. the number 144000 is to substitute the fallen angles that are now on earth working for the devil. Doing his deeds. In a short time, Jesus as king will instruct the angles to remove the evil from the earth and leave a cleansed system of things. the 144000 will be Judges of us all... they will set new laws and commandment for us to follow.
Death, hunger, wars, sickness, and all that has hurt us all in the past will be no more. Giving us a chance to live in a perfect world.
I hope this helps to clear up some thoughts that you may have...I'm sure it also creates new ones.

Sugar, you've got SOOOO much of this confused! :) We do believe that only 144,000 will actually go to heaven, but they have been chosen from among mankind for centuries by God Himself. WE don't choose who goes, and who doesn't! They have been chosen to serve with Jesus in heaven, over the Kingdom here on earth that we are taught to pray for in the Lord's prayer! As for the rest of faithful mankind, we believe that we will be here, on earth, where God intended for us to be, working to perfect the earth, and becoming perfect ourselves. Psalms 37:29 says "the righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it". Isaiah 45:18 says "this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He is the true God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited" I believe this. I believe that God has the heavens for Himself and His spirit creatures, the and the earth for mankind. His word has not changed! He intended for mankind to live here, in perfection, on a perfect earth, forever, serving Him. That has not changed.
You might contact your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and talk to them of your questions. If you go in to this with an open mind, you might just be surprised at what you will discover... at the very least, you can then make an informed, intelligent decision, based on knowledge.

They always leave me alone and NEVER bother me again after I tell them what church I go to.
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
If there are only 144,000 going to Heaven then how do they explain those multitudes in Rev 7:9-11.
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

The preaching work is performed because Jesus commanded it, not because it benefits Jehovah's Witnesses personally or as a religion. As a side point,
Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses expect that many thousands of the 144,000 have never set foot in a Kingdom Hall or read 'The Watchtower'.
The fact is that the vast majority of Witnesses hope to enjoy life ON EARTH forever, rather than in heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses understand heaven to refer to the dwelling place of spirit creatures such as Jesus and the angels. They understand the Scriptures to teach that exactly 144,000 humans will join Christ Jesus as kings and priests to administer God's Kingdom (which will soon replace all earthly governments).
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
(Revelation 14:1) Lamb [Jesus] standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand
(Revelation 20:6) they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him
The men and women who make up the 144,000 are selected by God from among two thousand years of Christians. Over whom will they rule? Over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
Hell is NOT someplace/something mankind needs to fear; there is no suffering in the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
Almighty Jehovah God selects those few who have the heavenly calling. Each person "feels" his own hope and each person's hope remains unquestioned by his fellow Christians. Still the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Logic AND Jehovah's Witnesses = Fallacy
Their entire system is built on misinterpretation of scripture...
They claimed that Jesus was "re-born" in the late nineteenth century and have made MANY false claims since then about Jesus' return.
Many INSPIRED people wrote about Jesus return:
2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar. Fire will destroy everything in them. God will judge the earth and everything in it. 11 So everything will be destroyed. And what kind of people should you be? You should lead holy and godly lives.
Mark 9:1 Jesus said to them, “What I’m about to tell you is true. Some who are standing here will not die before they see God’s kingdom coming with power.”
1Corinthians 4:20 The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk. It is a matter of power.
1Corinthians 15:23 But here is the order of events. Christ is the first of those who rise from the dead. When he comes back, those who belong to him will be raised. 24 Then the end will come. Christ will destroy all rule, authority and power. He will hand over the kingdom to God the Father. 25 Christ must rule until he has put all his enemies under his control. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
1Corinthians 15:50 Brothers and sisters, here is what I’m telling you. Bodies made of flesh and blood can’t share in the kingdom of God. And what dies can’t share in what never dies. 51 Listen! I am telling you a mystery. We will not all die. But we will all be changed. 52 That will happen in a flash, as quickly as you can wink an eye. It will happen when the last trumpet sounds. The trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised to live forever. And we will be changed. 53 Our natural bodies don’t last forever. They must be dressed with what does last forever. What dies must be dressed with what does not die.
54 In fact, that is going to happen. What does not last will be dressed with what lasts forever. What dies will be dressed with what does not die. Then what is written will come true. It says, “Death has been swallowed up. It has lost the battle.” 55 “Death, where is the battle you thought you were winning? Death, where is your sting?” 56 The sting of death is sin. And the power of sin is the law.
57 But let us give thanks to God! He wins the battle for us because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done. 58 My dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Don’t let anything move you. Always give yourselves completely to the work of the Lord. Because you belong to the Lord, you know that your work is not worthless.
God's position on the return seems markedly different from theirs.

I think the 144,000 go to "heaven" and the rest get to stay on the Earth that has been turned into a "paradise".
I think that "heaven" is only for the bigwig JW's.
I personally think that it's a cult....but that's just me.

Because, in their little world, the rest are resurected into a Paradise on earth, forever. I think a lot of JW's hope for this feeling that Heaven is out of there reach. It goes like this: at the end of time Jehovah God, as they say, re-Paradises the earth and people are resurected to live their for eternity. (re-Paradise is strictly my term.)

LOL. That makes two of US then!
I've asked the exact same question to a JW before, among others, and the response was that the "rest" will remain here on the Earthly Paradise... I think it was??
[SIDEBAR: So what's wrong with Hippies anyway... or, why do you "hate" them? Your folks met at Woodstock or something?? ...j/k. LOL.]
Peace be with you.
