I have straight hair and this is my way of doing it:
1. wash your hair using a volumizing shampoo(any brand is fine)
2. take a towel and squeeze excess water out of hair
3. take about 2 handfuls of any brand of curl enhancing mousse, depending on how much hair you have will determine the amount of mousse you use, lather all throughout hair
4. flip your hair over and scrunch using your hands, after you scrunch your hair, spray extra firm hold hairspray in your hair, and scrunch a little bit more(i use alot of hairspray so the curls will hold all day)
5. while your hair is still flipped over, blowdry on low until it is completly dry all-over. remember, scrunch your hair as you blowdry it.

All you need to do is buy a really good curling iron. I own a Hot Tools iron that was really pricey but I also have a Revlon iron that I love. It gives me really pretty curls that hold all day. Curling your hair takes practice so just keep at it and be patient. Also, you're going to need a good hair spray to hold the curl. I use Paul Mitchell Firm Hold Spray. This stuff is great because it has a strong hold but you're able to brush out your hair at the end of the day. Good luck and keep practicing with the curling iron and I know you'll achieve the curls you want.

It is the most annoying this in the world isn't it! I have the same problem the best thing to do is just to put loads and I mean LOADS of hairspray. I got my hair done for a wedding and they curled it and put pretty much the whole can of hairspray in. Even then it didn't stay. It fell out after about 4 hours. Mousse works as well but I always think it makes hair look greasy.

I have no idea what a curling brush is. If you are talking about those round ones with the bristles all over, that's meant to straighten hair. Use curling irons, or take a shower and put your hair in a bun and dry it completely then it will be curly and use mousse.

The best method I know to curl hair when hair is straight is to roll your hair on perm rods. If you want really curly hair this is best. You have to roll it up just like you were getting a perm. Papers and all. The smaller the rod the curlier the hair is. Must make sure the paper is at end of hair so you don't get fuzzy ends. I would use this method on my daughter's hair when she was younger and it looks as though you just got a curly perm. It is really cute especially if your hair has a little length to it. Hope this helps.

well... without getting a perm I would say get a curling iron... It works pretty well. I have two of them. Or you could try sponge curlers. They are the bomb. I use those when I want tight curls all day long. They work great.

first use a curling iron. it takes some time. but it is worth it. secondly apply a generous amount of mousse to your hair and then use some sponge rollers and sleep in them. it works fantastic and stays for well over a day. hope it helps. =)

After you get out of the shower braid your hair and leave it like that until it dries. Then, take the braids out and there you go!!! (Don't use a brush after taking the braids use a pick a brush will make curly hair frizzy)

I wet my hair and put in curling serum and them either twist it or braid it and undothe curls/braids when they're dry..
