I am just curious cause I haven't been having any major problems, but like when I am at work I will go to the back and wonder what I needed and if I go to the store I do the same thing, either I forget to get things or I just completley forget why I am there. It has just been getting to the point it is now because I have become very stressed out and depressed, yea I used to would do the same things some, but it has gotten to the point it is happening every time, I am even forgetting peoples names I work with and fogetting a lot of things when I am talking to my customers, I will just go blank and they will look at me like okayyyy. No major loss though, no long loss or more than what I just explaned. Thanks for all answers, I just want to make sure I am not losing it here cause I am only 23.

Yea, the stress and depression has been causing me to not hardly eat anything at all and I have been drinking a lot too, but i'm no drug person, I think the malnutrition and alcohol play a big role as well with the stress and depression, but it's like a big circle, what am I supposed to do, I can't stop being stressed and depressed without the alcohol and I don't wanna eat when I am depressed and stressed, but in turn it is causing my health problems.

Memory loss is a common symptom of both stress and depression. You seem to have both. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, and exercise, both improve memory. Organize your workday and you will feel less stressed out. Use memory aids like task lists and calendar reminders, this will help you feel more in control of yourself, and eventually that will improve your overall memory.
Stay away from the alcohol and any illicit drugs, since these can also affect memory. Eat small frequent nutritionally balanced meals. Low blood sugar can also affect memory.
I am by no means a stupid person, but I can't remember someone's name five minutes after I am introduced to them, so you are not alone in this regard.

Stress can cause a lot of problems, but I never heard of memory loss. Are you taking any medications that may have some side effects to them? Memory has its own little part of the brain that controls it, my brother fell and hit the back of his head and has done some major problems with memory ever since. He can't remember names of people or things. The doctors said it would heal in time, but it would take a long time. Maybe your are preoccupied with something else in your life right now and aren't focused on your job. If you are depressed, get help with it, see your doctor, there are some really good medicines for depression now. I take them everyday and it has helped me tremendously.

Absolutely. When you have something thats worrying you, you forget the things that are occuring at the moment. Personally, when Im really worried I forget what I was doing and where I leave things. Try to relax and not worry so much because clearly it is affecting your health. Also visit a phsycologist, he/she will help you find copy systems to help with your stress.

Yes, this time of year is both stressful and depressing for some people. Especially for those who have lost loved ones at Christmas time. Hang in there you will be fine.

You're probably just not concentrating on these things anymore because you are stressed about something else. maybe you need to talk to someone, and get some better strategies for how you are handling the stressful issues in your life.

I believe so. Lately, I've been stressed out at work and I've noticed I would call people by the wrong name and these are people I've known for years. It's a little unnerving. I've decided to take a short vacation next week. woohoo. =)
