Ignore the dumbasses. Sodomy according to the bible if you look at the original hebrew and aramaic means a violation of someone else such as rape. However this violation was against someone's will and involved penetration up the butt. Religious zealots interpreted it to be against "homosexuality" so there it stuck and its been like that since then.

The closest thing to the word "sodomy" that I could find in any version of the Bible is "Sodom". "Sodomy" is not found specifically in the Bible. (Based on my Bible software which searched for the word from Genesis to Revelation in the King James, New International, New American Standard, and Revised versions.) Merriam Websters defines "sodomy" as "anal or oral sex with the same or opposite sex or with an animal." "Sodom", of course, is from the event recorded in Genesis where God destroys the cities of Sodom and Gomorah for their depraivity and as Lot and his wife flee from that land, Lots wife, against the Lord's command, turns to look back at the destruction and she turns into a pillar of salt. I hope this helps. I would further recommend that you buy Nave's Topical Bible or Unger's Bible Dictionary from your local book store because they can be very helpful when doing a topical study such as this. Good luck!
