I'm redecorating my daughter's room. The colors are purple, hot pink and black. I'm wanting to make some inexpensive splatter paint pictures to hang. What kind of paper can I use? Or where can I get inexpensive canvas...is that what it's called? What kind of paint do I use? Can I use the same paint that I am using for the walls or? I'm on a budget so I need some suggestions or ideas on ways to decorate the walls as inexpensively as possible.

I have 18 grandchildren the art changes everytime they visit because they draw or paint me pictures. I use foam board as the frame [ it comes in lots of colors so I can change it out] it is really cheap and the kids love to see thier own art on the wall! I can even buy foam board at the dollar store, the sheet is 24"x36"! If you do it this way the art grows as the child grows! I save all the pictures in an inexpensive portfolio I also bought at the dollar store!

It would probably be more fun if you and your daughter painted your own canvases and then go to get it framed. Its inexpensive and your spending time with your daughter. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use the same paint that u used for your walls but go someplace like lowes or home depot and they will probably have some suggestions on paper. Better yet u can always try Wal-mart they always have good deals there.

Do you have a Michaels or Pauls Arts & Crafts store? Any place that offers creative supplies and frames. Alot of times they have 50% off coupons in the sunday paper. They have people on staff that are very creative by nature and can steer you in the right direction. Walmart has a creative section that is very economical, I find bargains there all the time as well.

go to a craft store like michael's they will have it. they are called painters canvas. you could probably buy wood frames there also, you can paint them to match the room. you can use the same paint as the walls IF you use the painters canvas. i don't think paper can hold up to the weight of wall paint.
