I just asked the question "Save a lost love" and thanks to my best answer I realized that instead of winning him back I might as well get over him. What is the best way to get over your first love if you can't stop thinking about him?

I kept asking myself this same question, yes it's painful; very painful and you feel depressed etc. and you think you'll never get over him-but you will, I did. It takes a very long time, but it's the people that you care for that care for you in the same way and the things that you love to do, that will help you move on from you heartache. Now, I just smile when I think about him and I wish him the best. You never know, maybe in the future he'll come back to you, and he'll realize that you are his true love. Things happen for a reason-if he doesn't come back-it wasn't meant to be. You'll find your prince charming-it is just a matter of time. The best way to forget him is time, and avoid going to see or hear familiar things that you can avoid that remind you of him-I do, because that shows you're willing to let go, and not feel pity nor attachment. If you avoid it, you're avoiding feeling sorry for yourself, which a step further in the clearing process.

THAT'S GOING TO BE HARD, BUT ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE WHEN YOU WANT TO LET GO. I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, ME AND MY FIRST LOVE ARE TRYING TO WORK IT OUT AND EVERYONE IS AGAINST IT! You need to keep busy.... start going out with your friends. Join a book club or yoga or something.... The only reason you cant stop thinking about him is because your not really trying too. Stop crying over spilled milk... Now its time for you to think about what you want... Go shopping

It is not easy specially if he is on your mind all the time . Try keeping busy with friends and family. It is OK to think about him, it might even help.to think of why you are apart. Get it ! Cheer up there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It just takes time.

to be honest, time is the only thing. i'm still not over this guy i was crazy inlove with, we almost had a baby and everything. we broke up almost two years ago, and it still hurts. i could lie and tell you the pain goes away...here's something i found the other day and posted it by my desk: it might not be possible to entirely understand a past love who affected every aspect of your life. try not to play the blame game. it's time to let go & live because thanks to him, you learned something invaluable....
