GO TO THE SALON- there is a reason we go to school for 1200 hrs. or more, there are many reasons why we have a special license for doing so and have to take a super hard test to get it. The stuff in the store is....crap, it's formulated so it will hopefully work on most anyone's hair so they put a ridiculously high volume of peroxide in the box that you 99% of the time wouldn't need anywhere close to that. one blah haircolor is so out, dimentional color is the way to go..I know they have those kits that are supposed to allow you to get a color and highlights BUT....1. I as a hairstylist tried it when I was in beauty school and couldn't do the damn thing without looking like a blotchy mess 2. when a stylist does this they do it in one process not coloring-and then going thru and hilighting it. it's too much stress on the hair, there is no need to put the strands you want hilighted through 2 chemical processes!
-way better condition
-someone to give you exact instructions and advice on how to maintain it
-THEY KNOW WHAT THEIR DOING!!

Salon. It's best to have professionals do it for you. If you make a mistake - you could end up with a weird color or worse - you hair may fall out.

well when u do a simple color with nothing like woow.. is fine doing it home, but when u want something more complicated is better going to the salon cuz u know.. they are the experts.. they know what look could work for u better, and thats their field.. just be sure to go to a good one... i recommend u to ask ur friends to which salon they go.. !

I have a personal stylist, I wouldn't trust some dumb bitches in a cheap salon doing my hair.

You can do it any way you want.I don't die my hair but my mom does it to herself. I don't think she has ever made a mistake. But if this is your first experience with it you should go to a salon.

I do it myself most of the time. sometimes like for special events I go to a salon and get it done.

pay the money, go to a salon. It will cost more to fix it if you mess up, and the mess isnt at you house!

you could do it either way i do it at a salon because i'm too scared of making any mistake on my hair

Oh definitely at a salon!! I know it's more expensive but it lasts longer, they will get it even, and you don't have to worry about any mess. :):)

my friend had brown hair and wanted blonde highlights, her mom did it- and her head was checkered we called her a cheetah- it was pretty funny!! a salon might be more expensive but if you do it yourself (or let your mom do it) it could be a total disaster!!
