I would say it's what's left of our "primal urge" insticts. The man goes hunting, brings the food home, the women cooks it. Scientist's also say that's why men channel surf so much, modern day "hunting" for something to watch. It could also be the nuturing effect for a guy, a subtle way to feel loved, plus we all know it normally taste better if someone else cooks something. Hope this helps.

Well...
I am a Widower...
While my Wife was alive, I cooked every meal, with the exception of 2 or 3. She simply hated to cook. I also did all the laundry, and most of the cleaning.
I attained a great appreciation of why women feel that they are taken for granted.
Since she has passed away, I have refused to cook anything. --
Even if that means I eat cold spaghetti and meatballs out of a can.
I'm fine with that, but really appreciate it when my girlfriend does cook something for me, even if it's ramen.
I guess, basically, we are really lazy dogs, and although we know how to cook, and may even enjoy it at times, we just don't feel like it most of the time.
Remember, we are evolved from hunter-gatherers, and men wandered about finding food, bringing it home to their families. I guess they expected women to make it presentable in some way, and return the favour of feeding the family, by feeding THEM. I think a lot of these tendencies are still hard-wired into our brains.
--Namaste,
--Tom

I cook myself, but, yes, I like cooking skills in a woman. Good food is an important part of life and we can't eat out all the time.

I love when my fiance takes the time to cook something for me. Regardless of what it is I always compliment her and inform her that she has outdone herself again. It doesn't matter if it's just toast and peanut butter I tell her what a wonderful job she has done. I do not say these things to be a smart *** or anything but say them because I am grateful that she has taken the time to do so and to show my appreciation.

I'm not a man, but my man loves when I cook because men just like to be taken care of (and babied). And you don't need me to tell you how lazy they are!
