Wide angle lenses are identified by a percentage.
For instance, if you buy a 0.5 wide angle, you will get approximately a 50% wider view. A 0.7 wide lens will get you approximately 30% broader view.
Important note: anything wider than 0.5 will typically be called a "fisheye" lens and will have distortion or a morray effect around the edges.
Make sure you get a quality lens for a nice camera or camcorder. Stay away from generic brands.

My store carries wide-angle lenses for specifically that kind of camera. They start at $44.95 plus S&H. Email if you are interested. You can reach me at a.taylor@onsitesat.com

A 0.7x wide should work fine, and will probably be cheaper than a 0.5x. Yes, 20% can make a pretty big difference, but come on, your making a skateboard video, not a panoramic view of the grand canyon. And with the money saved, you can use it towards a mic, or filters (UV and polarizer, two filters you should have for skate videos since your shooting outside. At the very least get UV), or something like that. Oh and make sure the lens diameter fits your camera's lens. Hope this helps and go out and make awesome videos!
