Considering the religious aspect of modern day Christmas is centered around Christianity. If they do, how do Hindu's and Buddhist's celebrate this holiday? Their religions are obviously completely different from Christianity, so of they do, do they only celebrate the commercial aspect, or are there traditions as well?

I am a Buddhist. I do not celebrate christmas. But Christmas day is a official holiday in my country You get a lot of christian TV shows at that time of the year. But basically Christmas has become pretty commercialized like everywhere else in the world.

This article covers how some Buddhists celebrate Christmas: http://sdstate.facebook.com/shared.php?posted&id=116508221&share_id=2225875747#s2225875747 Some Buddhists go to a special retreat, eat well, and exchange gifts. When they give gifts it is totally unconditional; it is not about what they get in return!

Can't speak for Hinus, but American Buddhists put up christmas trees and wait for Santa to come with gifts...just like Christians.

Well, I don't speak for the others,

but my family have a Christmas tree, we give presents etc. Hindus practice Christmas in exactly the same way, except that we don't go the church and we usually don't have a Turkey for Xmas dinner.
