I have heard this phrase used a few times by my Anglican family but can't understand why the faith is romantic. Has anyone else heard this term used, and if so what is meant by it?

Thanks.

Ho hum, Boudica, your take leaves us all very dull. Try reading Song of Solomon in the Bible-- a love poem. I think we have different idwas of romance, because from what I heard it is the basis, the root, of Christianity. Thanks.

My understanding is that unless it is used strictly for procreation, romance is not allowed in Christianity.

So, I take it, there isn't any.

Have you read the Bible? All those tales about Lot screwing his daughters, Jesus commanding his male companions to ritually cannibalize him......sounds more like soft porn to me, but I guess you could call it a romance novel as well.... Either way, it is FICTION.

They probably call it "romance" because it causes a lot of drama.
