and looks at your computer screen and says, " What are we doing now?". She does this several times a day. Occasionally I am composing confidential emails. She openly admits to be bored and that is the reason for the visit. Other then this bad habit, I like her as a coworker.

If she's not your supervisor, tell her bluntly that your work is confidential in nature and none of her business. Let her know that you are busy and have work to do even if she does not.

Then go out and purchase one of those filters that goes over the monitor so that you have to be sitting down in front of the computer to see what is on the screen.

After 30+ years in the workforce, I'm convinced that this is a subtle (sometimes not so subtle) way that some people have of trying to show they believe they are above you on the "peck order."

They wouldn't do this to someone who is above them on the office org chart. When they do it to someone equal/below them on the org chart, they're trying to put that person on the defensive. What they are doing is the equivalent of an invasion of your space, and is in fact a low-grade act of aggression.

Do it back to her. You'll find that this really blows her mind, and probably makes her mad, because it takes her status down a notch relative to you. Don't be surprised if she really gets offended.

I have the same problem. My co-worker waltzed into my office without saying a word, opened up my drawer and reached in for a pen, and never said thank you!!! I was stunned. I said to her "you could have asked me. What if I had something personal in there?" That shut her right up. She hasn't come into my office since. You should tell this person that what your doing is personal, and hopefully, they will get the hint.

....if you like her other than this one thing, then you might say "i really like visiting with you, but i can't have you interrupting my work....can we get together at break time?"
....or whenever she walks into your office say "i'm glad you're here...you're not doing anything are you?....good, then you can make some copies for me (or some other random chore)"....this will likely discourage her from interrupting you...and if not, at least you're getting some things done

She's doesn't really want to know what you're doing. Tell her how nice it is to see her and ask her a question.
