No we do not know the percentages but Christ taught the road is narrow. Not all who claim to be Christians are his. God is the judge we are not.

of course not! Christians believe that God works through many other religions too. No one can say for sure what sends a person to hell. That is for God alone to know.
Christians believe in Jesus, right? So if they go out and reject this believe that they grew up on then maybe there will be a problem. However, billions of people have not be really exposed to Jesus. So maybe the same criteria can not be applied to them? Like I said, only God really knows. Its just safe to say that Christianity (most churches anyway) teaches that people of all other religions will not go to Hell simply because they are not Christian. So if this question was insulting Christianity it won't work.

I believe Charasmatic Catholics and Messanic Jews (I think thats how you spell it) will go to Heaven too. They both believe in Jesus as a savior, not just a prophet. And just because they didn't accept Jesus the first time around, during the seven years after the rapture (the Christian belief of God taking us to Heaven) there will be time for them to accept God.

I must say that there are SEVERAL denominations of Christianity and they do NOT interpret the bible all the same. If they did, we wouldnt have so many different churches where people dont want to pray in the same room with another denomination. Some denominations do believe that most of the world is going to hell. I find this to be completely inconsistant with their preaching that their god is "LOVING AND MERCIFUL". If a human who happens to be atheist but coincidently has followed all of god's commands especially "loving thy neighbors" makes the "mistake" of not accepting jesus as their savior, THEY GO TO HELL FOR ETERNITY. How fair is that? You have to be tortured for eternity for ONE mistake in your life? On the other hand, a man who has killed someone, stolen, cheated, and lied yet says jesus is his savior will go to heaven. You see how little mercy and justice their god really seems??
Other denominations dont believe jesus meant you have to believe he is the savior LITERALLy but figuratively. Some denominations believe that what he meant was that you have to believe his message of love and LIVE it to really get to him. IF you believe/live his message , you believe in him.
I personally don't find their god to be anything other than unjust and UNLOVING IF their interpretation means that 6 billion people will go to hell; a scare tactic in many respects.
Lets be honest. NO ONE KNOWS if god really exists and that there is a heaven after death. If I say god and heaven don't exist, it doesnt make it any more right/wrong than someone who believes the opposite.
My only problem with religions like christianity is their need to FORCE their beliefs onto others. THe whole, "if you dont believe what I believe than youre going to hell" mentality. I know there are many christians who are not judgemental and I appreciate them yet there are plenty of christians who want to shove their religion down your throats.
THe only reason christianity has 2 BILLION followers is because over many centuries, christians have tried hard to convert people into their religion either by force or solicitation. Same goes for Muslims. Do you think early african american slaves had a choice between their own native religion and christianity under their masters? How about the christian crusades?? Christains hate to bring up the christain crusades and want to blame that on individuals yet when it comes to modern day MUSLIM terrorism, they believe that islam is evil.
In all I hate how christians believe that their religion is the RIGHT religion and every other religion is wrong. It makes little sense considering how many contradictions there are in a so-called "PERFECT BOOK". If it was a perfect book why are there so many denominations split on the interpretation of what it says in the book?? If it was a perfect book, why doesnt it take into account evolution? Hey everyone, the earth is 5,000 years old. lol. Christians now say that the numbers are figurative and really mean "millions " in "god years". Why is it that you can change the meaning of some parts of the bible to fit modern science yet are steadfast in believing that you can only go to heaven if you believe in the person called jesus. Couldnt that aspect be changed as well? I think so.

Actually, I think most sects of christianity think that even fewer christians are "real" christians, and firmly believe that between 90 and 95% of all of humanity from the first human until now are going to go to hell forever, or already there.. Kinda goes against the concept of a merciful God, thinking that God created billions and billions of souls just to send them to hell forever.. But i guess the ones that think that justify it somehow..

God says:
"you must be born again (born from above) to see the kingdom of God".
Yes, that does mean what it means!!
Why do you think Christians want to tell folks about the free gift of eternal life offered by God through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, on the cross???

Matthew Ch.7 v13-14 does seem to suggest this. Although it doesn't state any figure, does say that only a minority will get to heaven.
