On the free avg updates will it just update the virus definitions (sorry if i spelt that wrong) or will it update the program -- example could it update the software from 7.5 to 7.6 or would i have to do this manualy like avast. p.s i know 7.6 is not out.

automatic updates will only update the definitions [your spelling is correct]. any version updates you will be notified and given the option to update.

All it updates are the definitions. You have to manually update the software, why would you want that done automatically? What if it crashed your machine on install?
