Best thing to do is speak to a physician that deals in child ADD.
First off, the misconception is that all children with ADD are medicated immediately. Not true. They look at the degree of ADD and how much it harms the quality of life of the child before they look at medications.
While it sounds bad to put a child on medications, allowing the condition to go untreated can do more harm. My oldest nephew was diagnosed with ADD at the age of 13. How did they discover it? He was seeing a councelor for depression. My sister found out that ADD can cause severe depression because the children that have the condition can't concentrate, and they feel like they are stupid and inadequate. He was on medication (a very mild dose) for a short time, until he learned to manage his ADD. He was taught techniques to help with concentration, and to teach him to focus and complete things. They do a lot of work with kids to insure they don't have to be medicated for life if their condition isn't severe. Now, if the condition is severe, then they may have to spend their lives on medication. But as a sufferer of ADD myself, I can tell you the medication was a Godsend compared to living without it.
Do I think that it is easy to just diagnose a kid with ADD so you don't have to deal with the behaviors? Yes. Do I think that some do just that? You bet they do. But if you go to a doctor that is known for dealing with children with ADD (my sister did that, going to a doctor in the area that is one of the leaders in our state in dealing with ADD and ADHD), then you will get honest diagnosis, and the child will be properly treated - with or without medication. But before worrying about medications, you must worry about the diagnosis. Children can show signs, but are not ADD. A notable professional will be able to identify and treat the condition properly. Speak to your child's pediatrician to find out where to direct your child. Good luck!!

My son has showed signs that he has it and when he got older I had him tested and basically they did developmental test and asked questions to know, They will be very hyper, short attention span, hard to get them to sleep but that doesn't mean he has Adhd because boys are very active anyways but ask your doctor to test him if it gets worse. And also children will misbehave and it doesn't mean they have Adhd either and as far as the herbs I am not sure about that anything you do you have to monitor I don't see anything wrong with medicine because my son is taking it and you have to incorporate other things also like mediation and keeping your nephew on a routine schedule also.

He had a difficult time making acquaintances. at the same time as requested why he did some thing, he instructed me i do not understand. He spent most of the day, in school and residential in time outs. He replaced into falling very a procedures in the back of grade factor. He couldn't sit down with the help of a television coach, even his well known ones. the instructor extra up ADHD at his convention. We keen to medicate him, basically for the period of faculty hours. he's studying a superb quantity. the instructor is going to bypass him to the subsequent grade. he's happier because he's not in worry perpetually. he's the toddler that I said at the same time as he replaced right into a toddler- satisfied, wise and social. Medicating isn't ideal for all little ones. that is someone selection to be made with your toddler's known practitioner and your toddler's superb intrests in options. we've had a very helpful experience with my center son. My oldest the overall practitioner clinically determined him with ADHD, we do not experience that's the precedence. We did conform to attempt a drugs with him. This replaced into between the worst studies for him and all of our kin that we've had. believe your gut at the same time as determining. Honestly, you can't really get an accurate read of ADD or ADHD until after the age of 6. Plus it is way too over diagnosed and medicated. Most of the time the kid is just active...and requires additional time and focus which is why parents are around.

I'm no doctor, but usually they dont stay occupied with one thing very long or they dont pay attention to things very long. Wait until he is older, no child this young has a long attention span. Also beware because this disorder is way over diagnosed. See a doctor to be sure. :)
