The reason it does that is because most people get alot of corn nutrients from other places, because so many things now days have high fructose corn syrup in them (ie.corn). A person who only eats corn and doesn't eat things derived from corn don't have that problem.

Ya know, it really does unless you have one helk of a digestive track! But I still really love corn on the cob and popcorn too and a can of corn is a necessity if serving pot roast and mashed taters!

Most people do not chew their food thoroughly. It is still a bulky food but when chewed properly more nutrients would be digested & less bulk would be, uh...Eliminated...
