Whenever i put my TV on mute, or if the programme/dvd i'm watching has a scene of silence, there is a crackling sound. Any ideas what it is or how to solve it?

static from a bad conection

Sounds like static build up on the screen. Sorry no idea how to get rid. Except perhaps check all connections.

it could be a short circuit or a bad connection..
