A perm is what you do to your hair at a salon, you can make your hair wavy, straight or curly. It last for a while but not as long as a year, and if you get to many your hair will begin to look dead (like when you dye your hair to much)

you can ask someone at a solon or haircutting place, they would tell you.

A Perm, short for permanent is a chemical that is used to process the hair. The process often results in curls, the tightness of the curls depends on the kind of perm you request. The hair that the chemical has been applied to is changed PERMANATELY. The bonds in those hair shafts have been manipulated by the chemical to yeild curls. As you hair grows out the "new growth" will not be curly. The perm is not bad, if your hair is relatively healthy. I think the worst thing about a perm is you can get bored with it, pretty easily. Should you decide to get a perm, please talk to your stylist and make sure you really want to do it.

perm is a set of chemicals that will curl your hair in a timed formula like coloring, but in the form of the roller palced in your hair.

Overtime the perm will loose strength most people re-do perms every2-3 months to keep it up. However if you perm coloring is a bad idea you will loose more hair from the chemicals same with relaxing hair.

A perm is actually a Permanent, you go to the salon and she puts curlers in your hair and adds some chemical to your hair, it makes straight hair curly until it grows out. No it isn't bad but not many people do them anymore, they were more popular in the 80's and 90's.

For black women a perm is also known as a relaxer. It's a chemical process to straighten hair. To relax the curl pattern.

They're like country girl says but you can get them now with just body or kinky curly. Before I got my first I shampooed my hair & put it in tiny pin curls to dry. That way I got an idea of how it looked before I did it. Turns out I have naturally curly hair but it's so thick I never realized it until I did. So now when I want long loose curls I just pin curl it. That way I can wear it how I want to whenever & don't have to put up with the stink of chemicals or risk hair breaking off or being too kinky.

I makes your hair have tight, frizzy, 70's style curls all over your head! And yes, it looks bad on almost everyone in this century.
