White Zinfandel is always a nice choice and it's fairly sweet. Also if you have access to a place that sells Muscadine Wine, it's REALLY sweet, almost like grape juice.

REISLING!!!!! Oh my gosh it is sweet not dry and delicious!
Perfect for beginners in wine tasting!
For a sweet, apple to pear tasting reisling go with a white from cold climates such as Parasio in N. California or Germany (the best). What makes these so great is that the grapes are plucked while the ice still clings too em, making it a sweeter more concentrated and full flavor. If you want something that is sweet as well as slightly robust, get something from down south--like an Argentinan. Have fun and good pickin!

Moscato is a classical dessert wine. The cheap brand Sutter Home makes a moscato that tastes wonderful and complex for the first sip, then kinda avarage for the rest, but it's a good one to start with. Several varieties of riesling are sweet as well, especially a late harvest, or an ice wine, if you can find one.

Some rhines are slightly sweet, Chateau Y'quem is sweet, try Sauternes for they are sweet, some Chardonnays actually can be sweet. By the way, White Zinfandel is not a white wine.
Read the labels and they will tell you about the taste and subtleties of the wines.

The greatest sweet white wine in the world is, perhaps, Chateau D'yquem from the Sauternes region of France.

I am what some may call a WINE-O, but to start out I would recommend White Zinfendel, its cheap and tastes pretty good. Very sweet.

When I was in Germany I started drinking Schwartza Catz wine. It is one of the sweetest sweet white wines I have ever had. You can find it at most liqueur stores. Try it I think you will like it as much as I do maybe more!! Merry Christmas

i like riesling or gewurztraminer. be careful with both. If you buy them from Germany, they will be on the dry side. Fetzer makes some domestic versions that are quite nice.
White Zin is not white wine. made from zinfandel (red) grapes. And is not good anyways. it is kool aid for adults.

I like Vouvre. T ry going to your local wine shop and asking for dessert wine. You can sometimes get them in a split that has just has a couple of servings so that you don't waste any.
