However I immediately thought that the divorced men still have a place to stay, and once they have their new apartment or whatever, they'd have to change light bulbs there, wouldn't they? And not only houses have light bulbs.

I was surprised at the answer, I thought it was going to be the younger, fitter more sexually adventurous and less repressed second woman who he had traded the older version in for, but I was mistaken.
but your answer is very good and had me wondering how the single mothers who make up 40% of all the mothers reacted to this joke, guess they had another answer like
"I don't know, I got knocked up by a guy a know who never married me so never divorced me, and the C.S.A. can not find him to buy me a light bulb"
