I only recently found out I had panic attacks. Me and my wife were invited to a wedding in the middle of nowhere (1 and 1/2 hour train journey and 40 minte taxi journey.) I had to leave at 7.30 an overwhelming feeling made me feel I had to go and when we got back to the station (one way track only) the trains had been cancelled for the rest of the evening. I flipped completely as I felt there was no way to go home. so I hyper ventilated became extremely paranoid and couldnt stand any noise at all. And this is the short version. basically breathing exercises and acupuncture are the only thing that vaguely helped. But I still suffer slightly when I am ata place I cant easily escape from. I am okay as long as I cant see a crowd of people. I spoke to my acupuncturist about it and the best way to cure it apparently is to submerge yourself into uncomfortable situations which is a bit rubbish really.

I am going to tell you something I don't usually reveal because it is so unbelievable. First, before I say this I want to tell you that I do not hallucinate in any form. Never. I was at the point where I was decided whether or not to become a Christian. I prayed and asked God to send me a revelation. I wasn't really expecting anything or if I did I just thought it would be sort of feeling, nothing more. A couple of weeks passed and as usual I went to my job as a cashier. All of a sudden I looked up and there HE was with a look of absolute Love like I have never seen. He was so Beautiful. A feeling like everything was totally lifted off my shoulders came over me. I was afraid to look at Him for fear it would be disrespectful so I looked away and when I looked back He was gone. The feeling of peace lasted a long time that day. I know it sounds crazy, so I don't tell many people, but I know what happened that day for myself. God Bless.

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

I suffered badly from them after a nervous breakdown in 2004. Nowadays I just avoid situations that cause them - by spotting the signs early I can calm myself before the panic sets in. My worst panic attack left me in catatonic withdrawal for 20 mins or so before I began to regain awareness. Scary stuff.

It depends on many things. I think that if they are not too bad you can just have therapy and learn how to handle them. I myself try to find something relaxing, like taking a walk or a long bath. I try to keep focused on something different... or, in extreme cases I take a nap!

I was laying in bed and got the sudden feeling that all of my organs where failing. I was scared to death and was frantically trying to figure out what my kids were going to do and how would they cope. I got back on my prozac and trazodone after that. Paxil is good for anxiety attacks as well but it had too many side affects for me.

my first panic attack was the worst one because i didn't know what they hell was happerning and that made me panic even more plys i was on my own.
the best thing to do is take yoga as it is very diciplined and you have to control your breathing alot. and remember to take slow deep breaths and focus on something else. also you need to talk regulary about what is bugging you. and not bottle stuff up. good luck because they are horrible aren't they?
