As I've aged (I am 27) I have really, ahem, filled out slowly since I turned 24 or so. My boobs and butt have gotten really big but my waist has remained very small. I exercise and have a balanced, healthy diet. Could it be that this is just the natural way my body wants to be? Or should I work harder to get this weight off?

A lot of people are predispositioned by their genes to gain weight, but it has a lot to do with what we eat.

It's a big misconception that we are genetically destined to be big. But that's a falacy. Sure, maybe we've got the genes that will pack it on if we eat a cookie, but we can control one thing...what goes in our mouth.

It's a good sign that your waist is staying the same, but you are packing on pounds, reguardless of where they are being put. Since you are 27, you shouldn't be getting bigger breasts (you're way past that point). You may have a hormal imbalance. Check with your doctor.

Ask yourself this, have you been doing the same workout routine for a long time? Is is getting easy and routine? You can't do the same thing over and over and expect to get a different result. Our bodies are remarkable in the fact that it will find the path of least resistance to burn calories, meaning it will find the most efficient way. That means the first time you run 3 miles, your burning calories like crazy, but 3 months later, your body is still burning calories, but quite a bit less. Why? You're body got used to it!

Kick up your workout, really watch your calories, and see if those boobs and booty go down on their own.

Your body is bound to slowly increase in size as you age but its nothing to be worried about. More than likely you are just filling out to the size your family genes have predesignated for you. Exercise and diet are part of a healthy life style but you dont have to over do it. Find a weight that you are comfortable at and try to maintain it the best you can. All that matters is how you view yourself. If you feel that their isnt anything wrong and you like your body then you are perfect the way you are. GOOD LUCK sweetie best wishes and happy holidays.

Well I am underweight and have tried a million in one things to gain weight with very little sucess. I eat like a horse or 2!
Even when I was pregnant I gained but then my face looked thinner as if my body was trying to maintain a certain weight.
Anyway look at my family and you will see a trend of skinny-minnies just like me. Mom dad sisters nephews nieces most are the same!
I used to get mad when I had my kids cause people would be like "oh my god he is so tiny" and I am sitting there with my hubby (who is also kinda small framed) and we would be saying "duh!!"
So I think people have to give some thought to the notion that genetics do play a role in weight gain...or in my case not.

Those are the areas where your body is storing its fat. People are generally bad at judging how many calories they consume in a day. Eat more fruits and vegetables and avoid meat, dairy, refined sugar and flour. Fresh is best, then frozen. If you cook your veggies, use a steamer and only cook them a little, not until they are completely soft. That will retain their vitamin content better. Be sure to supplement your diet with good quality vitamins. The gel caps (clear filled with powder) are generally better than solid pills because they are absorbed more completely by your body. Take them with a meal so your body considers them part of your food.

its probably in your genes. look at the women in your family...mother, grandmother, aunt,... that should give you a hint. if your waist is small and your overall body is proportioned just keep on doing what you are. you dont say how much you actually weigh. again, if you are within the average normal range on the charts dont worry about it.

my plastic surgeon and medical doctor said that genetics can't be exercised or dieted away. Not matter how much you try. Unless you have unlimited cash like the Hollywood people.

It's probably your metabolism. As you get older, your metabolism slows. I would suggest just keeping the exercise and diet routine you're on, but if you start gaining any more weight, you might want to talk to your doctor and see what he/she recommends.

Some people are naturally certain shapes. Others have to work at it a bit. If you're at ease with your body, don't worry.

Most likely, it's your natural body structure. To confirm if you are overweight, a body-fat composition analysis would can be done.
