Your best chance of finding somewhat upscale take-out food on Christmas Day would be to call some of the big hotels nearby and ask if they will do takeout. There just aren't many stand-alone restaurants that are open Christmas Day, but restaurants that are a part of the hotel will usually be open because they have to be prepared to feed guests. I would suggest you call around and see what you can come up with, starting with the nicest big hotels close to where you plan on eating. Good luck!

Try Milton's Deli in the Flower Hill Mall (858-792-2225). I bet they're open because it's a Jewish deli. Great deli food! Gargantuan sandwiches! Also they have fabulous Xmas cookies which I sometimes pass off as my own.

A friend told me yesterday that Pizza is the most frequently ordered take-out food at Christmas, Chinese is second.
