Yes, occasionally when I'm bored, I'll sneak up to the fridge and slowly open the door to peek if the light is off.
Of the thousands of times I've done this, one time it was actually off.
I opened the door fully to investigate.
I ended up needing to replace a burned-out bulb.
I'll catch this bugger one day !!! one year !!
I foresee many bored day ahead of me : - (

Nope. I know they go off....I've trapped myself in the fridge before. Best 5 minutes of my life! Lol. We were playing this game thing for Halloween. It was weird. o.0

If you REALLY have to be sure, just take a camcorder, or a digital cam with movie function, start it recording, set it on the shelf, shut the door, then take it back out and watch it.
Then go back to putting on your foil beanie

It never goes off unless you're looking.

Easy test....feel the bulb to see it it's warm immediately after you open the door.
