Proactiv. My teenage cousin had really bad acne on her face and it was the only thing that worked but on a downside if you stop using it the acne will come back.

If this post twice I am sorry. One thing you can do is if you have bangs get them off of your face. They harbor bacteria and dirt and cause breakouts to be worse. Number two, go on-line to Murad.com and order the acne starter kit. This product used to be available only to professionals but has now been released for sale to the public through their site. It is AMAZING in the treatment of acne. It treats the acne without drying out the skin. Over drying of the skin causes the skin to overproduce oil, in turn making acne worse. I hope you give this a try and anyone else suffering from acne. I had major acne as a teenager, I am now an Esthetics Instructor (skin care specialist). I really hope this helps, it has worked for most all of my clients, except cystic acne which can only be helped by a dermatologist.

I'm 38 years old and have had pimple problems my whole life. The best thing I've found is University Medical's AcneFree. They have a whole line of products including cleansers and spot treatments:
http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand/default.asp?brand=34301&aid=336064&aparam=brand|34301|acnefree
I used to use Proactiv, which is relatively expensive, and found this stuff works just as well, is much cheaper, and readily available wherever skincare products are sold.
Take care and best of luck!

Believe this or not, I've found that ProActive was the best formula I've used so far. That, and everytime you get in the shower, use some anti-bacterial soap... Place some on your hands and use your hands to spread around face. Using a washcloth holds on to bacteria, exposing it to more skin. Just use ProActive and anti-bacterial soap, and you'll be good to go!

You might want to try eating more fruits and vegetables and steering away from meats, dairy, refined sugar and flour. Make sure to supplement your diet with good quality vitamins. The gel caps (clear and filled with powder) are generally better than the solid ones because they get absorbed more completely. Always take with with a meal so your body will consider them part of the food.

Clearasil's active ingredient is benzol peroxide so you need to try something with a different active ingredient. Try Neutrogena Multi Vitamin acne cream or lotion. the active ingredient is salicylic acid. Also wash your face twice daily with a clarifying cleanser before using your acne medication.

i found that the usual treatments never worked for me when i used to get spots cos they irritated the pore which produced more oil and made the spots worse, so I used calamine lotion, leave it on at night wash off in the morning, or else rosewater and glycerine form teh chemist, its really like a magical solution!
